What are the benefits of non-medical home care?
Today, home care is the preferred alternative to a nursing home, rehabilitative center, or hospital, especially since the global pandemic. People who are aging, healing, disabled, or recuperating from surgery are happier in their environment with familiar surroundings. Family members may also contribute to one's care in the home setting. Staying home encourages healing and helps one maintain their independence and dignity.
Depending on your needs, TLC HomeCare Services can provide a vast array of non-medical services to assist you and your family's particular circumstances. We come to your home, complete an assessment, and make recommendations that we feel would work best for you. Sometimes, a homemaker provides companionship a few days a week to do some grocery shopping and meal preparation. If you are a new mom just returning home with your infant, wouldn't it be nice to have an extra pair of hands to do some cooking or someone to run some errands for you?

Our services are very flexible, and we can adapt them to any situation. TLC HomeCare Services provides a combination of services (see SERVICES page for details). We offer services temporarily or long-term. We care for seniors, retirees, veterans, adults injured or recuperating, undergoing chemotherapy, battling a disease, post-operative recovery, expectant mothers, or new moms.
What are your hours of service?
We offer service with a 4-hour minimum but are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Shifts are available in a variety of time increments, but always with a 4-hour minimum. We answer our telephone live 24 hours a day. We ask for as much scheduling notice as possible to coordinate all of our efforts to give you the maximum benefit from our services. We will always try to accommodate a last-minute request or an emergency.
Are your caregivers independent contractors?
No, we do not hire 1099 employees; all caregivers are employees for TLC. TLC Homecare Services caregivers are thoroughly trained and screened with background checks, driver abstract, and reference checks. We are bonded and insured and operate under the "Health Care Service Firm" license granted by the State of New Jersey. Our staff R.N. supervises all CHHA's and does the initial care plan for the client, to be followed by the CHHA.

All caregivers write in the client's journal daily that TLC left in the home. The journal is for the family to follow our services' progress and encourages open communication between all parties.
Do you provide services to assisted living communities and nursing homes?

What are the benefits of non-medical home care?
Yes, we can visit your loved ones while they are in a community setting to supplement their care or provide services that the community cannot provide. We can coordinate these services with the community to avoid any duplications of service.
What if my regular caregiver gets sick?
No problem! We will replace your regular caregiver with someone equally qualified until your regular caregiver can return.
How do I pay for service?
Services are private pay unless you have a long-term care insurance policy. We will then assist you with filing the forms for your long-term care policy. We bill weekly.

We do not accept Medicare or Medicaid or other supplemental insurance plans in lieu of payment.

For your convenience, we will mail you an invoice with a pre-addressed blue envelope which is due upon reception.

We do accept credit cards.
Will TLC HomeCare Services protect my family member's privacy?
We respect the privacy of those for whom we provide care as required by HIPAA regulations.
Does TLC handle hospice cases?
TLC has partnered with many different hospice agencies over the years to supplement the care for your loved one in need and can continue to do so as hospice only visits a few hours a week, and your loved one may require more help and hours than they can provide you.
Do you use timecards for your employees?
No, that has become an antiquated process, especially in the home care industry. We have all of the employees' clock in and out for every shift from the client's landline. This process guarantees that they are at the residence. In addition, this process timestamps our computer and gives us an actual time in and out provided to you on your invoice.
Does TLC provide live-in help?
No, TLC does not provide live-in help but can staff your 24/7 needs with no problem by doing two 12 hour shifts or three 8 hour shifts or whatever you prefer.
